The Ōma Nuclear Power Plant (大間原子力発電所, Ōma genshiryoku hatsudensho) is a nuclear plant in Ōma, Aomori currently under construction in Japan. Japan has proved to be an unsafe area for any nuclear power plants.
If this plant is completed it could put not only Japan but the whole world at risk of another health and environmental disaster on par with the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.
We, the undersigned, call on the Japanese Government to put a halt to the construction of the Ōma Nuclear Power Plant or any nuclear power plant in Japan. Safe alternatives such as geothermal power should be investigated.
The risk of another nuclear power plant disaster is too high to exchange for the benefits of cheap electricity. The whole world is put at risk by such negligence.
Japan should think about the rest of the world as well as itself.
