There is no proof of increased security by mass gathering the fingerprints of lawful citizens on ID cards, while being an extreme invasive measure. In fact it decreases security as the Belgian government cannot guarantee this fingerprint database cannot be hacked.
Against the advise of the Privacy Commission the government went through with this security theater.
We do not agree with this and we ask that the collection of fingerprints on ID cards be stopped and the collected fingerprints be deleted.
