Parker street is the continuation of the Northern road and runs south to north from Maxwell street to Coreen avenue.
It has 3 lanes of traffic from Maxwell street to Copeland street and merges into 2 lanes at Gascoigne street.
The speed camera is situated 33.6m south of Gascoigne street and within the merging zone. This is creating a state of confusion and a traffic hazard as merging drivers are taking their eyes off the road to check their speed.
This situation is only further complicated during the 40 km/h school zone where drivers are also taking their eyes off the road to check for time as well.
For the above mentioned reasons we the undersigned deem this camera to be unlawful in it's current position.
We the undersigned are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to:
1. Cease the operations of the north bound camera on the corner of Gascoigne street and Parker street.
2. Cease the operation of the 40 km/h cameras on north and south bound sides of Parker street and to be moved to Copeland street for better effect.
