Roblox recently introduced chat age group restrictions to improve safety on the platform. While the intention behind this system is understandable, its implementation has caused serious problems for many games and communities.
Roleplay games, in particular, rely heavily on open and detailed communication. The current restrictions limit what players can say, block harmless messages, and prevent different age groups from communicating properly. This breaks immersion, causes confusion, and makes normal gameplay difficult. As a result, many games feel less engaging and less enjoyable for everyone involved.
We, the undersigned players and developers, ask Roblox to remove or significantly revise the current chat age group restrictions. While player safety should remain a priority, the current system damages roleplay, creativity, and social interaction across the platform.
We urge Roblox to work with the community to create a better solution—one that protects users without ruining roleplay games or limiting communication for players who are not causing harm. Roblox thrives on creativity and interaction, and those should not be sacrificed due to an overly restrictive system.
