Dear Prime Minister,
We the people of St Thomas are fed up with the deplorable conditions of our roads. As it leads to the damaging of motor vehicles, causes congestion and even leads to accidents which usually occur when drivers swerve from ruts and breakaway. These conditions make it very impossible to act fast when there is an emergency. Vehicle owners have complained about the cost of repairs as it exceeds their salary or earnings based on the frequent need. Also visitation levels are very low as person complained a lot about the road conditions. This causes travel to become uncomfortable and time consuming when compared to visiting other parishes and this affects the business of tourism. We need the government to start making decision for the parish.
We are requesting the government to act on behalf of us and come to a decision about our roads. We are not asking for highways and tolls just better road conditions, where we are able to travel back and forth smoothly. Better roads are beneficially not only to us but also the government as new revenue may be introduced, based on the fact that better roads and infrastructure may catch the eyes of investors. The parish has a lot to offer such as our beautiful falls, our white Sandy Beaches and rivers, and our rich history. Better roads means that more public transportation will be available to residents and it will result in motor vehicles lasting longer and it will cost less to maintain vehicles.
