On or about the 4th of October, 2007, a letter, incorporated here by reference, drafted under the signature of Ingrid E. Newkirk, President, PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and addressed to Mr. Kevin Federline, formerly married to Ms. Britney Spears, was caused to be openly circulated via various outlets of the media, inclusive of, but not limited to, the written press, television, radio, and the Internet.
The scope of the letter outwardly included a plea requesting Mr. Federline petition the Family Court of the State of California without specific or documented cause for immediate custody of a Yorkshire Terrier known as "London," as well as any and other animals, as the findings may be, currently in possession and charge by Ms. Spears.
Separately, PETA offers as it's published and believed long standing Mission Statement, among other claims, to wit; "PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry."
We, the undersigned, call on PETA to refrain from interfering in the lives and affairs of all private individuals, including Ms. Britney Spears, on the basis of purported and unsubstantiated heresay, innuendo, and misinformation, in the absence of that which is of fact to the contrary, all beyond the scope of your recognized and generally accepted statement of mission afore stated in the above.
In brief, we respectfully request and petition PETA to mind it's own business.
