Although he should have know better and is a complete idiot for breaking the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand while visiting, I believe the consequences he will receive in a Thai court are too sever for an impressionable youth experimenting with hallucinogenics. Please understand that this could have been you at a full moon party or at any other random event in your life.
Thailand has harsh laws for drug charges. The death penalty or life in prison could be considered.
