Madame’s Place, the legacy of Wayland Flowers’ talent, wit, and tenacity, is a hallmark series that contributed to the emergence of LGBTQ visibility in the media in the United States. Originally broadcast between September 1982 through February 1983, Madame’s Place is a situation comedy comprised of 51 hilarious episodes featuring Madame the Puppet, Flowers’ beloved iconic genteel geriatric Georgia-born jezebel.

The epitome of southern sweetness, Madame was the unabashedly shameless mouthpiece through which Flowers introduced American audiences to the rich and colorful elements of LGBTQ culture and humor. A satirical production featuring common values paired with unbridled bawdy banter, Madame’s Place opened eyes and minds - and cultivated LGBTQ relatability - through comedy and laughter.

Thus, the objective of this petition is to convince the executives of Paramount Television Distributors to reach into the vaults and make Madame’s Place available to us in its entirety once more; remastered to contemporary digital HD clarity. This show is a piece of our American LGBTQ history, and it so very wholly deserves a revival.

We, the undersigned, request that Paramount Television Distributors make Madame’s Place, starring Wayland Flowers, available for purchase, rental, and streaming in remastered digital HD clarity.
