We, the undersigned, wish to draw attention to a growing issue affecting the Nigerian P2P market on Bybit. Experienced merchants are being compelled to post at unusually high rates due to the influx of new merchants who often have little to no understanding of proper advertisement pricing.
These newcomers frequently list ads at prices exceeding the market rate, sometimes by more than 10%. This not only disrupts the healthy margin structure of the market but also causes significant losses for existing merchants trying to operate sustainably.
As a result, many seasoned merchants are left with no choice but to engage in constant price negotiations. Unfortunately, this often appears suspicious or dubious to counterparties, damaging trust and the reputation of legitimate merchants
We, Bybit P2P merchants in Nigeria, call on Bybit to reduce the current advertisement margin limit from 90%–110% to 90%–105%.
We also request that all ads above this new range be removed, and a directive issued for merchants to repost within the approved limits.
This will help maintain a fair and stable market for everyone.
