Ulster County Legislature Draft Resolution #0108 was presented to the Law Enforcement Committee on January 8, 2013 by the sponsor, Legislator Don Gregorious (D) Woodstock.

After discussion, the committee agreed to wait until the February 5, 2013 Law Enforcement Committee meeting to vote.

On January 22, 2013, over 350 residents turned out at the monthly meeting of the Legislature and over 50 residents spoke and unanimously opposed this resolution.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

We the undersigned oppose Ulster County Legislature Draft Resolution #0108 of 2013, "Requesting the United States Congress Implement Federal Laws that will protect the health, safety and welfare of the public from death and injury, due to the intentional or unintentional misuse of firearms".

We also support the 2nd Amendment of the United State Constitution.
