Oppose the 3-way stop at Square Park on Alsace Way

We the residents and friends of Alsace Way are opposed to the proposed 3-way stop at Square Park and change of one-way traffic to two way traffic in front of 21 and 25 Alsace Way.

We need Colorado Springs City Traffic Engineering to be aware of how this plan will negatively impact residents before they implement this change. If you, like us, are opposed to this 3-way stop, we ask that you get involved. Make your voice heard and tell City that you oppose the 3-way stop at Square Park.

We believe the 3-way stop will have little to no influence on the stated purpose of reducing vehicle speed down the Alsace Hill and reducing cut through traffic on Alsace.

Additionally, we believe there will be numerous negative consequences if this 3-way stop is implemented. To name a few:
• Increase in noise pollutions because all the vehicles have to come to a stop and then accelerate
• Increase in light pollution at night because all the vehicles have to come to a stop
• Increase in air pollution because all the vehicles have to come to a stop and then accelerate
• Excessive queuing creating blockage and unsafe conditions
• Increase traffic into and out of the Rainbow/Trout neighborhood (children’s safety)
• Create NB cut through traffic on Hawthorne to Alsace during the heavy queuing times
• Reduces the value of the homes closest to the 3-way due to the above consequences
• Creates less than convenient condition for local residents for no benefit
• Will cost the tax payer for a solution that doesn’t address the primary stated purpose of reducing speeds down Alsace hill
