The PLA are intending to extend the speed limit (between 12 to 15 knots) from Cherry Gardens, Wapping to Cross Ness, Thamesmead/Dagenham. This will go out for consultation in February 2008. Brief information is displayed on their web-site www.portoflondon.co.uk
This is unnecessary as the river widens down river and there is far less congestion than in Central London.
Oppose the speed limit before it is enforced!
We, the undersigned, call on The Port of London Authority that no further speed restriction be enforced (other than ease down points where necessary due to wash) after Cherry Gardens, Wapping down river towards Thamesmead/Dagenham.
