Dear “The King: Eternal Monarch” team,

This is an open letter to show our support and love to this amazing drama.

Aunt Kim Eun Suk, thank you for this amazing MASTERPIECE. You drove us crazy over theories – some of us lost a big part of our neurons while others of us found out that are really genius, perceiving each detail (or at least thinking that they discovered what was going on haha) -, we got excited, sad, anxious, happy and entertained. We really appreciate the story you created and are deeply thankful to you for sharing it with all of us.

Director Baek Sang Hoon, thank you for your guidance and hard work behind all this production. This work of art wouldn’t be the same without you, we applaud you for the beauty that we could see in our screen.

To our beloved cast: thank you for bringing life to these amazing characters that we loved to love and/or hate:

Woo Do Hwan, as Yeong and also Eun Seop, was one of the most precious things in the drama. We were touched by Yeong’s loyalty that can give even his life to save a friend, not only as a duty but also for love. Eun Seop was our stress reliever in the middle of the chaos, his sillyness and courage made us love him.

Jung Eun Chae, as Primer Minister Koo, was just amazing, giving us ambiguous feelings. Seeing a strong woman in politics, not letting people look down at her was incredible and empowering... Too bad greed was the most sincere emotion of hers and she had to pay a high price – we felt her despair.

Kim Kyung Nam, our poor Shin Jae, you really went through a lot. Your love was fated to fail [with Tae Eul], but we value the way you cared not only for her, but for everyone around you. We rooted for Shin Jae’s happiness and wanted to buy all the ice cream in the world for him.

Lee Jung Jin, we loved to hate Lee Lim. Lee Lim really gave us goosebumps. An evil, smart and charismatic villain is what we stan!

Our dearest leads: what a roller coaster!

Lee Min Ho, we are grateful to you for giving life to the King that we learned to respect, admire and love. A King that works hard for his people and isn’t selfish, trying to do what is best for the worlds, even if it means sacrifice. A human that went through heartbreaking moments at young age, but even with all the resposabilities, became a great man. Lee Gon was a gift and the way he loved Tae Eul touched us.

Kim Go Eun, no one could be Tae Eul and Luna but you. The way we were able to differentiate these two women by just looking at their eyes is insane. Luna was a mystery that we wanted to solve since her first appearence. Her indifferent expression scared many of us but at the same time made us wish her at least a little bit of happiness. Tae Eul was the woman we fell in love with. Her strength as a person is admirable, she fights for what she thinks is right and for the people she cares about. Seeing her feelings for Lee Gon developing was beautiful and made us proud.

For both of you [ LMH and KGE ] we can’t express how thankful we are to be able to see Lee Gon and Tae Eul’s marvellous love story. Thank you for giving us the most beautiful hug scenes, we felt the warmth of each embrace. We cried in each heartbreaking and desperate moments; we smiled in every little moment of happiness. Our hearts wanted to protect your destined love as much as these two. We are grateful to be able to see a couple that the story involved us and made us go crazy over every little skinship. Thank you for sharing this beautiful journey of a love that grew deeper every second. The last episode didn’t air yet so all we can do is hope that Lee Gon open all the doors of the universe and find his way to Tae Eul.

For all the actors and actresses that are part of this drama and we didn’t address individually: THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK! You’re an important part of this puzzle and we're glad that each of you where chosen.

Last but not least, a big thank you to all the people involved in the production of this drama. We know that without you this project wouldn’t happen. You guys went through a lot, so we hope that you can know that we appreciate all your efforts!!! We love the result of your hard work.

Honestly, it’s sad to say goodbye and we say it with a heavy heart, but good bye.
