Offer free, annual bus passes for Myerscough College Students to Preston and Lancaster

Myerscough College Students on the Bilsborrow campus are fairly isolated from any major retail areas with Preston being 7 miles South and Lancaster being 14 miles North on Garstang Road.

There is only one bus per hour (on weekends) to Preston going one way and another an hour going the other way towards Lancaster and Morecambe (Buses 40 & 41). However, when students buy tickets, (assuming they return the same day), they must pay £6.80 for a Dayrider to go either way (this is notably the cheapest option as (i.e a single to Preston is £3.85 alone).

Myerscough do not offer Residential Students any Bus pass or discount on public transport and do not seem to have any plans to offer students anytime soon.
I have e-mailed Stagecoach about this issue and they seem to have no interest in resolving the issue, they do not even accept NUS (National Union of Students) cards to cut the price.

Not many students live in, but there are plenty of students who use the public transport on weekends and even during the week and still pay the full price, residential or not.

If a bus pass cannot be issued, then an alternative target would be directly to Stagecoach to ask them to include Bilsborrow (and possibly Broughton and Barton too) as part of a Preston Dayrider (which would only cost £3 (providing Students offer some type of ID which would help massively!

Student life is expensive enough as it is today, but with ridiculous transport prices like these, hopefully we can do something to make life a little bit easier for students for years to come with this petition.
