No to the Purcellville Northern Collector Road in Wright Farm
- Target:
- Loudoun County Board of Supervisors
- Region:
- United States of America
Current plans and alternative alignments for the NCR east of Route 690 run through the Wright Farm subdivision. A low-density development, Wright Farm did not exist when the County’s Transportation Plan incorporated the NCR decades ago. Many of the Wright Farm homes have reserved right of way for the NCR, shown on the subdivision plat and in the subdivision deed.
The reserved right of ways travels through at least one home, septic fields, over wells, and very close to other homes. The transportation benefits to county residents of a NCR extension through Wright Farm are limited.
The monetary and community costs of an NCR extension into Wright Farm are significant, including, but not limited to, traffic noise, scenic and aesthetic disruption of private lands, and potential environmental impacts to wetlands. Overall, there is no lasting value to the Wright Farm community, or the county at large, provided by any NCR alignment that is passed through Wright Farm.
We, the undersigned, call on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to eliminate the Northern Collector Road, East of Route 690, off of the County's Transportation Plan.
This should include any and all potential alignments and conceptual locations that run through the Wright Farm Subdivision.
The subdivision plat and deed should be revised by the County to remove the reservation of right of ways in Wright Farm, and clearing the titles for homes located in Wright Farm.
