The Victorian Government, Vic Roads, The Campaspe Shire, The Murray Shire and the RTA NSW, want to build a bridge in our town and destroy our Heritage and Amenity in building it.
To the Legislative Assembly of Victoria:
The Residents of the Shire of Campaspe and the Murray Shire ("the petitioners") draw to the attention of the House the new proposed bridge site connecting the townships of Echuca and Moama across the Murray River.
The new proposed bridge site connecting Warren Street of Echuca to Meninya Street and Perricoota Road of Moama by crossing through Victoria Park located in Echuca is opposed to by residents and local user groups on the basis that the proposed route will block access to the Scenic Drive (through Victoria Park) and destroy natural bushland on both sides of the Murray River.
The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly of Victoria direct the relevant roads authority (VicRoads) to discontinue any further planning for the new proposed bridge site on the basis that the new proposed route does not have the acceptance of the residents and user groups of the townships of Echuca and Moama.
