During the last year a change of use from indoor market to bar and restaurant was granted to the freeholders of the premises.

Recently the HRRA has noted that a new application has been submitted to Licencing for Tenshi 2 by the management of the Casino Rooms, who are also freeholders of 141 High Street, which is situated between Langley Galleries and Rochester Fireplaces.

This application seems to have come about because the Queen Charlotte has decided not to renew its Sexual Entertainment Venue Licence (SEV Licence).

The Council agreed to limit the number of SEV Licences to two within the conservation area in Rochester, therefore the Casino Rooms management has applied for a second Licence.

We feel that the presence of two SEV Licences damages the reputation of Rochester High Street, and endangers the family-orientated evening economy.

We, the undersigned, do hereby object in the strongest possible terms to the application for a Sexual Entertainment Venue licence by Lovellrise Limited, the proprietor of 141 High Street, Rochester (between Rochester Fireplaces and Langley Galleries).

The presence of Sexual Entertainment Venues damages the reputation of Rochester High Street as a venue for family late-evening enjoyment.

We insist that limiting to two the number of such venues within the centre of Rochester is no valid reason for granting a second licence and we urge Medway Council's Licensing and Safety Committee to reject the application.
