NEW CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR TV ADAPTATION ‘THE WATCH’
BBC America has announced the casting of several Ankh-Morpork leaders, with Anna Chancellor as Vetinari, James Fleet as the Archchancellor of Unseen University and Ingrid Oliver as Doctor Cruces, head of the Assassins Guild.

Anna Chancellor is a fantastic actress but why mess with the characters in the book - in the name of political correctness??
We definitely are not agree with Anna Chancellor as a Lord Vetinari in a movie "The Watch". Lord Vetinari is in all books frm Terry Prattchet a Man.
Fans of Disk World just fall in love with the characters as they were written and we do not want gender swap in the name of political correctness.

The whole point of books like Equal Rites was that they challenged the status quo based on the gender of the characters they were written as. They didn't need the bbc's help then or now. That's what made him such an amazing writer. The bbc's idea to swap everything around just makes Equal Rites and others irrelevant and that's wrong.
