No R4 Zoning for Moorebank

Without consultation many quiet, residential streets in Moorebank have been rezoned to R4.

R4 High Density Residential means that land in the affected zone can be redeveloped for Multi Storey Residential Units up to 18 metres high; approximately 7 storeys.

The purpose of this petition is to gain support from local residents so that our council listens to our concerns listed below.

The matters we wish to discuss with council are:

• When was the decision made to rezone the streets to R4 and whether it was done in a legal manner.
• What consultation with residents was sought during this rezoning process, if any.
• Access to any minutes and/or relevant information pertaining to the meeting/s of these consultation briefings, if any.
• Request to halt any further Development Applications for High Rise Unit buildings until such time as Council has adequately responded to our concerns.

Sadly, our beautiful neighbourhood is in jeopardy and we need to do everything we can to protect it.

Our way of life is at stake and many of us fear living next to high rise buildings where our privacy, safety, health and protection is at risk.
