We feel that the increase of the speed limit from 30 mph to 35 mph is not appropriate for a residential street on which an elementary school borders, and that such increase on a street where motorist already have a tendency to drive too fast would compromise not only the safety of the students currently attending Arroyo Vista Elementary, and Colonial House Nursery School, but also the residents of the immediate area.
The increase of the speed limit does not provide any improvement for the motorists’ pleasure, other than creating a comfort zone for increasing their often well over the speed limit ‘race’ to the end of the block.
