CVS Pharmacy wants to level two thirds of the block between Dodge & Capitol Ave and 48th & 49th St in historic Dundee to build a suburban style box store with an oversized parking lot.
Their design does not fit the style & architecture of the area. It will also create traffic problems in the area and will increase noise pollution to the remaining neighbors.
We, the undersigned, oppose
• the rezoning of existing Dundee residential property on Capitol Ave to commercial and the destruction of 5 turn of the (last) century homes;
• the current CVS plans for a suburban style box store with an oversized parking lot and vegetation not native to the area.
The current design does not meet the form, scale and character of our neighborhood.
