Nintendo has released fantastic games that impact people and cultures across the world. One trope that they have used for decades is the Damsel in Distress.
The few times this trope has been reversed is when the woman is either hiding their gender or is using more emotional based weaponry as combat. For more information please watch:

We, the undersigned, call on Nintendo to create a game where Princess Peach can be her own heroine.
We want a game made where we can play as Peach, and possibly Daisy, Birdo, and Toadette, and she fights her way out of the castle.
She plays the maps in reverse (contrary to normal play) defeating the bosses and in the time it takes her and Mario to meet up in the middle of the map, Bowser shows up and Mario and Peach fight him with Peach delivering the final blow.
During the credits she cuts her hair shorter, changes her outfit and is never kidnapped again. In this game Peach will fight more physically, while still maintaining her ability to float. Her parasol can also be used to shoot out fire flower and other like attacks.
