New secondary state school to service division 5

Currently children from Palmwoods, Chevallum, Woombye, Eudlo, Montville and other division 5 suburbs have to travel either to Nambour state school or Mountain creek State school to attend secondary school. The current growth in the areas of Palmwoods, and woombye is significant and popular with young families, and with the proposed new large housing estates the growth is set to continue. This petition is for councillor Winston Johnston of the division 5 electorate to bring a proposal for a new publically funded state school to the attention of the Queensland government. Currently, Palmwoods, eudlo, woombye, chevallum and montville all have fantastic state funded primary schools, which is attracting many young families to this area. These children will need a secondary school to attend in the next decade. As these suburbs all share similar ideologies and a high degree of community spirit I feel a secondary school local to the area will benefit the children considerably, giving them a sense of belonging and responsibility in our local suburbs.
