This is a petition to request the installation of a pedestrian crosswalk signal at NW 39th and N Barnes Ave.
N Barnes Ave. is located on NW 39th Street between Penn and May in OKC OK.
This minor intersection is the home of some popular night life and many people disregard the lack of a crosswalk and jaywalk at this location. In the past 14 months 4 pedestrians have been critically injured here by speeding cars.
It is an entertainment district and should be treated as one.
The addition of the signal will facilitate a solution to dangerous jaywalking as well as encourage drivers to slow down and yield to pedestrians and perpendicular traffic, something that is rarely seen at the current time.
We, the undersigned, call on the Oklahoma City Traffic Commission to install a pedestrian crossing signal across NW 39th street at the intersection of N Barnes Ave.
