As graduating Spring 2008 Art and Visual Technology Photography Concentration majors, we are concerned about the conflicting Spring 2008 class schedule.
Many of us need to take two out of the three following Upper Level AVT classes that are all offered at the exact same time: Senior Project AVT 497 for non Design Majors, About Photography Practice and Research AVT 459, and Critical Theory in Visual Arts AVT 472.
Since the AVT 459 is only offered in the Spring semester, many Photography concentrations need to take it in the Spring 2008 semester in order to graduate on time. This is impossible to do when the only Senior Project class offered is at the same time as this class.
We, the undersigned, call to the AVT Department of George Mason University to add another option of time for the Senior Project AVT 459 in the Spring 2008 semester.
We would like, furthermore, for upper level required courses to not be scheduled for the same time in the future.
Because Design Majors do not have options, the time of the class should be moved in order to accommodate the graduating Seniors.
