For 233 years the American Indians have earned the right to have a day celebrating their heritage.
2010 is the year to send the message to our elected officials. A change cannot happen in the USA until the citizens of the United States of America honor the Original Americans.
We, the undersigned, come before you to request that The President, members
of Congress and members of the Senate of the United States of America come
together unanimously to create a Federal Holiday for American Indians.
American Citizens, including American Indian governments and the people they
represent are requesting that the Federal Government create a National Holiday for American Indians to be celebrated by all citizens of The United States of America.
This holiday would pay tribute to the American Indian culture, including Alaskan and Hawaiian Natives. It is the intention of this petition that consideration also be given to a month of education about the Original Americans who have helped create these great United States of America.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
