Dean Windass is the epitome of a true City fan, rejected by the club he supported as a youngster he showed steely determination to make his mark in football and after having kicked at the wall for many months he finally broke it down to sign for his beloved Tigers.
He is City through and through, his reaction to playing in front of his loyal followers at the K.C Stadium is there for all to see, he has a passion burning inside him that ignites others around him, he is a true tiger and a City legend.
He should be honoured for his commitment to the club and for that moment of sheer theatre and magic when he scored 'THAT' goal at Wembley.
Another famous Hull Son Clive Sullivan has the main route into Hull named after him after, following a glittering career in Rugby League when he crossed the Divide between Black & White & Red and White. Deanos does the same for football, uniting many fans across the game in admiration for him.
A fitting tribute to the legend would be a street of public place named after him, a place where all fans of all clubs can look each other in the eye and be united.
We the undersigned call on the City Council of Hull to name a street or public place as a momento to the Legend that is Dean Windass.
He unites football fans of all clubs and ages with his passion for the game and his burning desire to be a winner. The fairytale was written when he scored the goal at Wembley to take his beloved tigers up to the Premiership.
A place carrying his name would be a fitting tribute to a true City Legend.
