Whereas State Road 15/501 has no name indicated on official county maps north of State Road 64 by-pass, and is not commonly known by any name other than its numerical designation;
Whereas Barack Obama served as President of the United States of America with honor and distinction;
Whereas Chatham County could be the first jurisdiction in North Carolina to name a major highway after President Obama;
Therefore, be it resolved that we ask the County Commissioners of Chatham County, NC, to name SR 15/501 from the SR 64 By-Pass to the county line with Orange County "Barack Obama Boulevard."
