This petition follows the death of Lorraine Barwell the Serco PCO escorting officer who passed away after being assaulted by the prisoner she was taking back to the van from court.
Killed in the line of duty, but not in the main news because a prison officer's job and all the roles and dangers it involves are often unseen and unheard.
This petition is to David Cameron to change in staffing levels across the board for ALL prisons/courts/escorts etc. whether they be private or public before another member of staff is killed and another family left heartbroken.
We, the undersigned, call on David Cameron to protect and support our staff serving in Her Majesty's Prisons and Court Houses throughout the UK.
We want increased staffing levels - across the board, more support for injured officers, support for the mental health of officers and no warnings enforced for work related injuries.
