Popstar Magazine writes, “This beautiful blond force of nature is a fast-rising singer with a talent to match her looks.” Monét's driving and distinctive sound combines edgy guitar riffs with a fresh pop energy. Just ask the 6000 screaming fans when she opened for Jesse McCartney at the Gibson Amphitheatre - they’ll tell you - she rocks.
Monét has been a singer/musician/actress for as long as she can remember. Growing up in Los Angeles with her parents, her home was always flooded with music and the arts, making singing and acting as natural as walking and talking.
She wrote her first song at age nine, and landed starring roles in musicals like Grease, Hello Dolly and The Music Man. She quickly acquired notice from top music supervisors and program directors that have featured her on hit shows such as “The Bernie Mac Show” and “Zoey 101”. When the producers of “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” saw her open for Jesse McCartney, they immediately booked her to play Cody’s “rock star crush” on the episode “What the Hey.” The storyline revolves around Zack and Cody skipping school and becoming a part of Monet’s video shoot. Monet states “It was awesome to be cast on ‘The Suite Life..’ but I was thrilled when they wanted to use the song I wrote called ‘2 of Them’ and turn it into a video for the show.” The episode wowed America – it earned her the “Young Artist Award” and remains one of the highest rated episodes to date.
Just 18, Monét has played to sold out audiences at LA’s hot spots like as The Whisky, The Roxy, and the Key Club. Reviews from the Los Angeles Times and New Music Weekly have raved "Monét will give Avril and Brittney a run for their money," “New rock sensation Monet ‘rocked the Roxy’”,” and “word to opening act, Monét, a 15 year old who wowed parental units by strapping on her guitar and blazing Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog. Girl’s got rhythm.” It’s no wonder that she is sponsored by Daisy Rock Guitars and walked the Red Carpet at the American Music Awards this year.
Through infectious rock melodies and insightful lyrics, Monét expresses the everyday happenings of her generation. Her musical influences range from Led Zeppelin to Gwen Stefani, creating a contemporary edge combined with pure vintage rock. Her strong lyrical perspective sets her apart as one of the few who have something unique to offer.
Along with her passion for music and acting, Monét has made a solid commitment to giving back. She donates her time and talents for such charities as the Ronald McDonald House, The American Cancer Society and Children’s Hospitals all over the country. This past year she received the 2007 “Care Award” to recognize her generous spirit. Monét states “it’s rewarding to put energy into ‘people’ rather than ‘things’. I just love the kids – their hearts are so pure.” Judging from the feedback of this year’s ‘End of School’ tour, the kids love her right back. She delivered a rockin show while sending a positive message to the students. A teacher states “She speaks on the student’s level and proves that you can be a ‘rock star’ and keep up good grades. She has a sense of responsibility as a role model and that is a rare find.” Academics are first and foremost for Monét, as she graduated with honors a full year early, and was proudly inducted into The National Honor Society.
Monet brings it full circle by being beautiful on the inside and out. Combine that with raw talent, drive, and genuine values, she is poised to take the world by storm with a sound that is all her own. Monét is currently in the studio recording new material and has been chosen as Disney’s Incubator Artist.
