Michael Jackson held his last ever press conference on March 5th 2009 at the o2 arena in London. During his 4 minute speech Michael announced that the This Is It tour would be the last his "final curtain call." Hundreds of fans attended the event just to get a glimpse of their idol, myself included.
Whether Michael was intending to continue the tour around the world after his o2 residency we will never know but what we do know is that he was going to begin it there. How amazing is that? Michael Jackson's final ever tour was going to begin in London, amazing if you ask me.
After Michael passed away thousands of people gathered at the o2 arena on numerous occasions including memorial day, the day the tour was meant to begin, his birthday and again on January 23rd for the London fan day. Thousands of ppl attended to honor and express their love for MJ, many of whom saw him for the last time at the exact same place.
In memory of Michael, the fact this is where the now infamous This is it speech took place, and was also the venue for the ill fated tour we want you all to please sign this petition to get a permanent memorial for Michael at the o2 arena where all this happened.
Please spread this petition far and wide and thank you.

We, being Michael Jackson fans worldwide, call upon you the o2 arena staff and management to place a permanent memorial for our idol at your venue.
Michael held his last ever public appearance at your venue and was intending to hold his last tour with you also.
For hundreds of us loyal fans in the UK and worldwide the o2 was the last place we ever came face to face with Michael and we think that should be commemorated. Your venue was jam packed on January 23rd 2010 for the fan day, so surely that shows how much this man meant to us.
We know that you must have felt so honored when Michael chose to use the o2 for his comeback and surely that is something you want to celebrate.
Alot of us who were there on March 5th 2009 for the press conference still congregate outside all the time to feel closer to MJ and we strongly believe that putting something permanent in place is the perfect way to immortalise his legacy at the o2.
Even if it is just a plaque or something, we would all really appreciate it as we already appreciate you hosting such wonderful events in honor of the late king of pop. Thank you.
