MERCAT- Liquor License Application

Dear Neighbors,

We hope this letter finds you all in good health and happiness this holiday season. We are Mercat, a new Regional Spanish restaurant located at 45 Bond Street. Currently, we are undergoing the application process for a liquor license. We are reaching out with the hope to gain your support and friendship.

Mercat’s owners are native New Yorkers with deep roots in Spain. The goal of Mercat is to bring a piece of Spanish culture to New York City, recreating the food and ambience of a Catalonian Market a common landmark found in the region’s capital, Barcelona. The décor will combine a market feel with the industrial style of NOHO.

The open kitchen will give our guests a clear sense of the ingredients and passion that is put in each dish. The service will be warm and professional. The tapas style menu of small and medium plates is complimented by the all-Spanish wine list.

We have put together a great team to ensure our success. Our co-executive chefs, Ryan Lowder and David Seigal have bistro and fine dining experience in both New York (Jean-Georges, Bouley, Café Gray, Casa Mono) as well as Michelin star restaurants in Spain (Martin Berasategui, Raco D’en Freixa). For the Host and General Manager of Mercat we are joined by Arik Torren (The Mermaid Inn, The Red Cat, Sushi Samba).
