Mental Health Matters: we need to inform the new generation about the reality of mental health
- Target:
- Students of Bell high school
- Region:
- Canada
1 in 5 youth (aged 9 to 19) have a mental health problem or illness. Mental health is a huge issue. But the fact is, not nearly enough is being done about it.
Even though there is a part of the curriculum dedicated to mental health, it is short and uninformative. Many are left with the understanding that mental health is a joke and not a very serious condition.
Thus, we need to inform the new generation about the reality of mental health.
We want to spread awareness via teachers, speakers, and any way possible to raise light to this matter. It is so important that people learn as much as they can about mental health.
Even though so many are affected by it, either directly or indirectly, many are still shunned for having mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, adhd, and many others.
Mental health is a real problem that needs to be addressed and we need your help to do so.
