Α few days ago a terrible case of animal abuse took place for once again in Greece...
Chrisanthos Spiliotopoulos is the name of the man that last Wednesday witnessed and reported a horrible crime of animal abuse. Passing by Peristeriou Avenue in Salamina, with his car, this man heard two gun shots, and the next thing he witnessed was a man shooting for the third time, a dog, to finish him off, while that dog was trembling and writhing, and crying and streaming from the pain the bullets had caused him.
The killer, who is Retired of the Hellenic Navy, was annoyed because the dog, epaniel in race, entered his garden through an opening in the fence! He did not hesitate for not even a minute and executed the poor dog with 3 bullets in front of the eyes of his young son ! Trying to give him the “good” example !
The abuser, who was arrested yesterday, today was presented to the Public Prosecutor so that the charges would be announced to him, but his trial was postponed because of the legals’ strike, for January 16, at 13:00

Unfortunately this is not an isolated incident of animal abuse, instead we re talking about a phenomenon that occurs extremely often, all over Greece, but in the area of Salamina lately has increased dangerously. Having in mind all the researches that proved that animal abusers rarely stop at the abuse of an animal, we consider that man to be even more dangerous than one would think…now it was a dog, tomorrow it could be his child… And since we all considered that Greek laws don’t apply to animal abusers but fortunately that seemed to change to the last incident with the man of Albania origin that sledgehammered the dogs in Mosxato, who was severely punished.
We demand:
The Maximum Penalty for the accused, making him an example for all animal abusers who commit so terrible crimes, in Greece and especially in the problematic area of Salamina.

Πριν απο λίγες μέρες ένα τρομερό έγκλημα εις βάρος ενός άτυχου ζώου συνέβη στην Σαλαμίνα...
Ο Χρύσανθος Σπηλιωτόπουλος ήταν εκείνος, που την περασμένη Τετάρτη και ενώ περνούσε με το αυτοκίνητο του από την Λ. Περιστερίου στη Σαλαμίνα, άκουσε αρχικά δύο πυροβολισμούς και στην συνέχεια είδε, έναν άντρα να ρίχνει την τρίτη και χαριστική βολή σ’ έναν σκύλο, o οποίος σπαρταρούσε και ούρλιαζε χτυπημένος από τα σκάγια.
Ο δράστης, που είναι απόστρατος του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού, ενοχλήθηκε, επειδή το ζώο ράτσας Επανιέλ μπήκε στον κήπο του από ένα άνοιγμα στον φράχτη! Δεν δίστασε και αντί πολύ απλά να διώξει το ζώο, μπήκε στο σπίτι του, πήρε την καραμπίνα του και το εκτέλεσε με τρεις σφαίρες μπροστά στα μάτια του μικρού παιδιού του! Δίνοντας έτσι το καλό παράδειγμα.
Ο δράστης, που συνελήφθη χθες, σήμερα παρουσιάστηκε στον εισαγγελέα για να του απαγγείλει κατηγορίες, αλλά η δίκη του τελικά αναβλήθηκε λόγω της απεργίας των δικηγόρων και θα γίνει τη Δευτέρα 16 Ιανουαρίου στις 13:00.

Δυστυχώς δεν πρόκειται για ένα μεμονωμένο περιστατικό κακοποίησης εις βάρος ενός ζώου, και η κατάσταση με τα περιστατικά αυτά , και ειδικά στην Σαλαμίνα, όσο πάει και χειροτερεύει. Επίσης εκτενείς έρευνες έχουν αποδείξει πως συχνά αυτοι που κακοποιούν ζώα σπάνια σταματούν εκεί… Σήμερα ήταν το αδέσποτο σκυλάκι αύριο μπορεί να είναι το παιδί του… Επίσης μέχρι πρότινος θεωρούσαμε πως η δικαιοσύνη αφήνει τους δράστες αυτούς ατιμώρητους, όμως πρόσφατα η δίκη του Αλβανού σε καταγωγή εγκληματία που βασάνισε και σκότωσε τα σκυλάκια στο Μοσχάτο, μας έδειξε πως τα πράγματα αρχίζουν να αλλάζουν και κανείς δεν μένει ατιμώρητος.
Για τους λόγους αυτούς ζητάμε λοιπόν
Να επιβληθεί στον κατηγορούμενο η μέγιστη δυνατή ποινή που ορίζει ο νόμος για ένα έγκλημα τόσο αποτρόπαιο όσο αυτό, κάνοντας τον παράδειγμα για όλους τους όσους κακοποιούν ζώα στην περιοχή της Σαλαμίνας και φυσικά στην υπόλόιπη Ελλάδα.
