Every year thousands of people lose their lives because their ambulance was stuck in traffic and they could not reach the hospital in time. Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Banglore or perhaps any other Indian city is synonymous with traffic and rash drivers and they all have earned themselves a bad name when it comes to emergencies. Serious life-threatening situations where emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, have to rush from one area to another are often compelled to slow down.
The day has not come yet for Indian masses where ambulances could fly above all the traffic. Till then we can follow these simple yet effective strategies to help save lives.
Move To Left
Motorists should move to the left once they hear the siren so that the right side will be made free for the ambulance to pass through.
Stop The Traffic
All the traffic should come to a halt on the left side until the ambulance passes. No vehicle should be allowed to move until the ambulance has passed safely.
I pledge that I will pull over my vehicle to the left to clear out the right lane and halt for the ambulance to pass safely whenever I hear the Ambulance siren so that it reaches the hospital faster.
