Lower Speed limit to 40 on Turner Road
Traffic Calming Initiative for Turner Road
Turner Road is being used as a detour from Walker Road for construction vehicles using Tamar at South end of Turner.
There have been multiple accidents in the area including T-Bone collisions where drivers continue through stop signs.
Pets and animals have been hit repeatedly on street.
Speeding traffic has made backing out of driveways near impossible.
Heavy Construction vehicles using Turner road to access Tamar creating noise and destroying road leaving pot holes.
Tamar using south portion of Turner has taken over street and using public road as their own private worksite (forklift crossing, private signs on public land) blocking access to emergency vehicles.
Speeding vehicles using Turner as dragstrip.
We the undersigned are looking for the following changes to take place:
Speed reduced to 40km/hr with multiple clearly stated signs as well as digital signage to show traffic speed.
Enforcement from police for speeding, running stop signs, racing and commercial vehicle enforcement.
Restrictions for heavy trucks using Turner road.
Creating traffic plan with Tamar to ensure safe passage of forklifts/trucks and to enforce vehicles using public road have the right of way, not the other way around.
4 way stops at every intersection. There is confusion with many drivers as to which is a 4 way stop and has resulted in vehicles running through. Without 4 way stops, vehicles can build up speed.
If above measures cannot ensure safety of neighborhood install physical speed bumps at prescribed locations to slow traffic and deter traffic to stay on Walker Road.
