The Longwarry Skatepark Campaign is seeking a all ages, all abilities Skate Park to be constructed in Longwarry.
Longwarry is a growing town with many families and children of all ages. There is currently a growing need for local activities other than playgrounds. There is no BMX or Skate Facility in Longwarry and many families are forced to travel out of town to use facilities of this nature. Currently Garfield (approx 8.5 kilometres) and Drouin (approx 10 kilometres) are our closest skatepark locations.
We are calling on the Baw Baw Shire to make this a high priority and construct a facility that is:
-Well designed and landscaped.
-Located in a easily accessible area, close to the town centre.
-open area, safe and with high visibility for natural surveillance.
-suitable for all ages and abilities.
We strongly believe that this facility would encourage and promote active participation and exercise. It would also play a important role in community social needs and provide a excellent asset to our families and youth in the local community.
Our campaign needs to demonstrate community support and we ask for support from not only local youth but also parents and the wider community.
Please show your support by signing this petition.
We, the undersigned, ask the Baw Baw Shire to consider the construction of a family friendly, all ages, all abilities Skatepark in Longwarry.
The skatepark will fill a growing need for a all ages, all abilities recreational area, promote a active lifestyle and provide a important community social hub for the growing number of families in Longwarry and the surrounding area.
