Currently, congresspeople can be re-elected an unlimited number of times. This produces a large incentive for congresspeople to continually raise funds for their future re-election campaigns, which are VERY expense (in 2010, John McCain spent over $20-million dollars on his election campaign for the Senate).
As a result, many of our congresspeople do favors for special-interest groups in return for contributions to their re-election funds. This results in congresspeople representing special interest groups instead of their own constituents.
We, the undersigned people of America, call on Congress and the President of the United States to pass a bill for there to be a limit of two terms for a person voted in to fill a position in Congress including Senators.
