The Constitution is extremely vague when it comes to executive actions.
The power of Executive orders is more defined by modern day society and more implied in the constitution.
You can refer to article two of the U.S. Constitution to see all of the presidents original powers and duties.
As citizens of the United States of America, we have the right to be heard and have a voice in our countries decisions, especially when it retains to our inalienable rights.
As recently demonstrated by President Barack Obama, our president is allowed to take executive action without votes from The House of Representatives. President Obama recently took action against the second amendment which gives us the right to bare arms. The executive order makes it harder for deserving citizens to attain guns.
We believe the executive order should be reserved for times of absolute crisis, such as time of war and other situations that are immediate, not situations that should be worked through with congress if the matter is stated in the constitution as a right.
By signing this petition I believe that we need to limit the Executive action to States of emergency, treaties and action involving combat that absolutely needs to be immediate.
The amount of power the executive order can carry is not very well defined in the constitution, but we intend to change that.
