After getting life insurance for my husband and I, I started asking questions in reference to getting it for our daughter who has Type 1 diabetes.
I have been refused by 2 companies so far and only 1 would consider it after she turns 20. At that time, if she would be excepted, her premiums would be twice as much as a normal premium.
I feel it to be unjust for her to be denied because she has an illness in which she did not ask to have.
If you or a loved one has or knows of someone with Type 1 Diabetes and feel the same way I do, please help support me in getting this overturned with the Insurance companies.
Our children are too young to defend themselves in this situation. It has to be our jobs as parents to protect them from more stress than just dealing with a disease that is still undergoing research.
