Our proposal seeks the regeneration of the existing Lidl store at Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, into a new Lidl foodstore with accompanying car park. Our new store will have an extended retail sales area, a dedicated in-store bakery, a new warehouse area and delivery bay. It will extend to 2,436 sq. m Gross External Area (GEA), including a net sales area of 1,424 sq. m
Our proposal will deliver a reconfigured car park to provide more car parking spaces, including disabled spaces, and parent and child spaces which are positioned close to the customer entrance of the store. The existing vehicular access point to the store will be retained.
The redevelopment of our store will provide the following benefits to the local area:
• A reconfigured store which provides a clean and fresh shopping experience to meet the needs of customers.
• A new in-store Bakery with an improved range of products.
• A contemporary building design that will complement the surrounding area.
• Continued employment and additional employment opportunities being retained in the area.
We, the undersigned, fully support Lidl’s application for the regeneration of the existing food store at Motherwell.
We agree to our petition data being used by Lidl to lobby local Councillors and North Lanarkshire Council to aid progression of the planning application.
