Once again an arbitrary decision has been made to exclude the Green Party of Manitoba from participating in the televised leader's debates.
The Green Party of Manitoba is a registered political party with dozens of confirmed candidates vying for seats in the Provincial Legislature.
In the interests of Democracy and the opportunity to have all perspectives heard - we are asking that the Chief Electoral Officer involve Elections Manitoba in assuring a fair and level playing field by requesting that the Leader of the Green Party of Manitoba be permitted to participate in the televised debate.
We the undersigned implore the members of the Media consortia, and the Chief Electoral Officer to assure a level of fairness at election time by assuring the representation of the diversity of political opinion - especially that expressed as legitimate participants in the electoral process - by permitting James Beddome Leader of the Manitoba Greens to participate in the upcoming provincially wide televised leaders debate.
