For years Australia has been one of the only countries in the world to have the sport of airsoft (bb guns) be illegal, while Australia has recently legalized gel ball guns the fight for airsoft has a long road ahead, the main reason for lack of airsoft support is their relation to real guns and their classification as imitation firearms, however, this argument falls short when you realize that now it's easier to get a real gun and airsoft guns are for the most part clearly marked with orange tips much like the currently very legal gel guns, which are currently not marked as imitation firearms despite there realistic look which is a primary reason being argued for keeping airsoft illegal
We the undersigned are calling on the Australian federal government to allow the import of these imitation weapons without or possibly with a BB gun exclusive firearms import license and allow the use of these imitation firearms for sporting or hobbyist use.
