Ever been stuck at the railroad crossing at King Road in Burlington? If so, you're not alone. The wait times are longer than ever, and likely to increase with the addition of a third track.
An underpass would alleviate these problems on this highly traveled road.
We, the undersigned, draw your attention to the following:
The current delays at the railroad crossing on King Road in Burlington are longer than ever. With the addition of a third track, it is likely that the delays will increase as the train traffic increases. In addition, the shunting of trains over this crossing causes significant traffic delays, several times daily.
These delays not only affect the average traveler, but could affect the response time of emergency service vehicles to the houses and businesses on King Road, north of the railroad crossing.
An underpass would alleviate these problems on this highly traveled road.
We ask that the Government of Canada, through the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (COMRIF), reconsider their funding to underpass the railroad crossing on King Road.
