Violent crime has increased 65% in our area over the past year, compared to only 5% in Dallas overall. County data show that burglaries and robberies in the FitzKaty community tend to cluster around late night bars along Fitzhugh Ave.
The Katy Trail is a cherished Dallas destination, currently attracting families and fitness enthusiasts. A late night outdoor bar on the Katy Trail can increase crime, drugs, noise and litter along the Katy Trail, creating an unsafe and unhealty environment to all those who now enjoy it.
We, the undersigned, want the Katy Trail to remain safe, healthy and clean for all to enjoy.
We strongly oppose the opening of a late night outdoor bar on the Katy Trail.
