Target:
Apex National Convention 2010
Region:
Australia

Dear Apex member, past member, prospective member or supporter.

The current age requirement to be an active Apex member is that that person needs to be between the ages of 18 and 45 years. One of the motions on the 2010 Apex National Convention Agenda is to remove the upper age limit. There is a second motion, if the first fails, to raise the maximum age to 60 years.

While it will be the district governors that ultimately vote on the motions at the convention and, therefore, effectively decide the issue on behalf of all Apex members, they are required to gauge the sentiment of the members. therefore, this petition is intended to be submitted to the district governors either prior or on the convention floor.

Apex is all the more unique because of its youthful membership base, ensuring a youthful outlook and membership concerned with youth issues. New members are the lifeblood of an Apex Club. By getting involved in club new members bring along new talent, new ideas and new enthusiasm. For this reason Apex is always looking for enthusiastic, energetic people who want to make a difference in their communities.

It is this member's view that if these motions are passed the face of Apex will be changed forever. Apex will no longer be a young persons club. It will be just another service club.

We the undersigned are against increasing the active age of an Australian Apex member to over 45years.
