One of our biggest environmental issues today that contribute to global warming and the continuing deterioration of not only our country but also our planet and it’s natural beauty and resources is plastic and pollution caused from littering of plastic.
Plastic itself is one of the most harmful materials to our environment on its own, but can do even more damage when it ends up in our oceans; it can kill the ocean life, poison the fish we eat which will result in the spread of sickness and diseases and it deteriorates the ocean‘s natural beauty.
We, the Green Teens group in Namibia, call on our Government to ban plastic (bags, bottles etc) on public beaches on the coast of Namibia, and make littering on the beach punishable by a fine.
