THE FORMER OATLEY BOWLING CLUB SITE
Keep our land in public hands
HCC has to date proposed 4 options for future use of the OBC site which is in Myles Dunphy Reserve. These are:
1. Demolish and revegetate.
2. Restore the building (and use for community purposes).
3. Lease for private function centre (indicative 20 years lease).
4. Long term lease for aged care facility (indicative 50 years lease).
To all Councillors Hurstville City Council
We the undersigned:
i) object to the sale or lease of the site for exclusive private use;
ii) object to any potential rezoning of any portion of Myles Dunphy Reserve;
iii) ask Council to maintain this site as publicly owned land continuing its use for community purposes;
iv) therefore support Option 2 as above; and
v) ask that Council urgently address continuing degradation of the building and surrounds to prevent ‘demolition by neglect’.
