Keep Not For Profit Childcare In Mansfield

Petition to ensure the families of Mansfield have access to affordable childcare through the Mansfield Shire supporting the not for profit community based childcare service MACE-Mansfield Community Cubby House in its application to lease the premise in the new Mansfield Family and Children's Centre.

Over the last four years the not for profit community based childcare service, MACE-Mansfield Community Cubby House, has worked in partnership with the Mansfield Shire to secure funding, develop an integrated service model and build relationships with relevant partners to develop the new Mansfield Family and Children's Centre.

MACE was named as the intended licensee in the funding application and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the project through being active members in the Shire's working party for the project.

Nearing completion of the project The Mansfield Shire Council are now considering giving that lease to private operators on the basis of financial gain.

Council must recognise the social responsibility it has to its families and community members.
