Keep BIGWOODS ATV Club OPEN!

On July the 9th 2009 @ 6:00pm at the Brunswick County Government Complex there will be a hearing to discuss whether or not to issue a "Special Exception" zoning permit to BIGWOODS ATV Club so that they can "Legally" continue to do what we already have been doing for a year. BIGWOODS ATV Club is a 3000 acre swamp land that borders the county line and is surrounded by farms and hunting clubs in the middle of nowhere...literally. The County didn't even know we were there until a month ago.

We have been functioning for a year so far without incident and holding such events as organized mud races, Relay for Life events to help find a cure for cancer as well as various other civic causes that help us and our community. A select few squeaky wheels have raised enough stink to where the county can no longer ignore our existence and now they have to act to bring us into compliance with the general guidelines that they use to govern the remainder of the county that has pavement and streetlights.

We are no different than any other hunting club or group of people that gather in peace behind a closed gate in this county or state for that matter.

THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THE ONLY GATES THAT SOME FOLKS IN THIS COUNTY LIKE ARE IN THE FRONT OF THEIR HOUSES OR SUBDIVISIONS.
